Supporting Post-Merger ERP Integration for a Global Manufacturer in China
December 19, 2021

The Opportunity
Supporting ERP Integration After a China Acquisition
After acquiring several local Chinese brands, our client needed to integrate operations more efficiently across its newly expanded business in China.
One of the biggest priorities was implementing a unified ERP system that could support reporting, procurement, and day-to-day operations across multiple subsidiaries. At the same time, the project needed to move quickly while balancing technical requirements, commercial expectations, and local operational realities.
So our consultant was brought in to support the ERP procurement and vendor selection process as
part of the client’s broader post-merger integration strategy in China.
OUR SOLUTION
Preparing for ERP Vendor Selection
Before starting the vendor selection process, our client needed to align technical requirements, business expectations, and project timelines across different teams.
We helped structure the process by preparing the RFP, defining evaluation criteria, and supporting the review of shortlisted ERP vendors in China.
This gave the client a more practical framework for comparing vendors and moving the project forward within a tight timeline.
Once the requirements were defined, we supported the full bidding and evaluation process included:
- Organized and facilitated the bidding process
- Collected vendor proposals, and defined an evaluation framework to benchmark proposals on cost, technology and commercial terms
- Conducted comparative analysis of vendors to support informed decision-making
After narrowing down the shortlisted vendors, our team also supported the final negotiation and selection stages.
Our team assisted with:
- Vendor comparison and negotiation preparation
- Alignment on commercial and technical expectations
- Stakeholder coordination during final decision making
- Contract discussion and finalization support
The RESULTS
The project helped our client successfully select a China-based ERP vendor that matched both operational requirements and budget expectations within the planned timeline.
With the vendor selection and negotiation process completed, the client was able to move forward with a more unified ERP approach across its China operations and newly acquired entities.
