The Opportunity

Increasing OEM Production Capacity in China

Our client, a global sauna equipment brand, was experiencing rapid sales growth and increasing pressure on its OEM supplier in China.

The supplier had accumulated a backlog of more than 30 container orders and was struggling to keep up with demand. To avoid delays and maintain stable supply, the client needed a clearer understanding of the supplier’s actual production capacity and what could realistically be improved in the short term.

Our consultants were brought in to assess the supplier’s operations and support the capacity expansion process on the ground in China.

OUR SOLUTION

The supplier faced several operational constraints at the same time, including limited factory space, workforce shortages, and production bottlenecks across key processes.

The challenge was not only increasing output quickly, but doing so without disrupting ongoing production or creating additional operational risks. There was also limited visibility into where the biggest bottlenecks existed and which improvements would have the fastest impact.

We conducted an on-site assessment covering production schedules, workforce capacity, factory layout, equipment usage, and inventory flow. Our team also interviewed key personnel to better understand operational issues affecting output and delivery timelines.

Based on the findings, we worked with the supplier on practical short-term improvement actions covering staffing adjustments, workflow optimization, production planning, and equipment utilization. We also supported implementation follow-up and monitored progress during the ramp-up period.

The RESULTS

The project helped the supplier increase daily production capacity by 20{5461f270aeac2c82c6899cb5379517efce7343485675a63ac229f8db5bbb64c6} in the short term while improving operational coordination and reducing the risk of delivery delays.
